Understory

Houston’s Downtown tunnel system got bigger, better, lighter and brighter when Understory changed the scene in 2019. The space includes 10,000 square feet of retail and 20,000 square feet of public space, making it a spacious entryway to the tunnel system.

The forty-foot atrium space features a Heights favorite, Boomtown Coffee, East Hampton Sandwich Co., Flip ‘n Patties, Mama Ninfa’s, Mona, Sawyer Yards, Seaside Poke and Silver Lining among others. In addition to the hip eateries, there is also shopping and performances by local artists for guests to enjoy.

Utilizing natural light to bring some brightness to the tunnel scene, Understory features sleek, modern decor making it an ideal space to stop to debrief between meetings or catch up with someone.
