Le Colonial

Located at the gateway to the River Oaks District, Le Colonial and its creator, longtime Bayou City-resident Nicole Routhier, have returned home to Houston. For over two decades, the famed restaurant brand introduced French Vietnamese cuisine to New Yorkers and, after much success, have now brought the concept "home".

Widely considered the premier author of Vietnamese cookery in the country, Routhier now reprises her role as Culinary Director for the River Oaks District launch in collaboration with Executive Chef Dan Nguyen.

Meant for sharing, Le Colonial’s menu includes items like Vit Quay, a half duck with sticky rice cake, house pickles and tamarind dipping sauce, and Bun Thit Nuong, a Vietnamese noodle salad made with chargrilled pork belly, vemicelli noodles, mesclun green topped with lime garlic fish sauce and peanuts. On the sweeter side guests will find a heavy French influence in items like Creme Brulee, Tarte du Jour and chocolate mousse.

The two-story, 5,500-square-foot restaurant and lounge is inspired by 1920’s French Colonial Indochina, Le Colonial sets the tone with period photography, wicker dining room chairs, paneled walls, overhead fans and lush greenery.

Head to the second level for a more relaxed lounge experience, separated into four distinct areas including a private dining area, a north-facing terrace dining room event space, an open-air veranda and a bar.
