Gyu-Kaku

Gyu-Kaku recently made its way into the Houston market, bringing with it a style of barbecue most Texans aren’t accustomed to but can surely appreciate.

The menu is seafood and meat-centric where guests can be their own chefs. First, choose from six types of marinade including miso, sweet soy, garlic, shio white soy, basil or tuzu. Once the meat arrives, the cooking begins on personal built-in charcoal grills right at the table.

Looking for more than grilled meat? A few other Japanese staples can also be found including sampler plates for larger parties and a few ramen options.

Open every day for lunch, specials include a choice of meat along with salad, miso soup and rice sides for $15/person. Not in a rush, bring a group and order set courses for a chance to sample a little of everything at a discounted rate.
